Pull up a wheel for an afternoon with a coffee in hand and a tutor on call — no experience needed.

A café and pottery studio in the heart of Totnes — serious espresso out front, six wheels and two kilns out back.
Enquire about a sessionOur story
Kettle & Kiln began with a simple idea: that the patience of making something by hand and the ritual of a properly pulled espresso belong together. The front half is a proper café — Extract Roastery beans, slow mornings, good company. The back half hums with six wheels and two kilns.
We wanted a place where you could sit with a flat white and watch clay take shape, then roll up your sleeves and have a go yourself. Whether you've never touched a wheel or you've been throwing for years, there's a seat at the table for you.
From a one-off afternoon to regular kiln access — find the way in that suits you.

Pull up a wheel for an afternoon with a coffee in hand and a tutor on call — no experience needed.

Build real skills from centring to glazing across six guided evenings, finishing with pieces you've made start to finish.

Regular kiln access and bench space for experienced potters who already know their way around the wheel.
